The most talented people and the best ideas and initiatives in the own-label industry have been recognised by a new awards programme from The Grocer. The Best of Own-Label Awards 2019, which have been launched in conjunction with The Grocer’s Own-Label Accreditation Scheme, recognise excellence in the dynamic UK own label sector.
We are proud to announce Dunbia’s group head development chef Andrew Brondon has won The Grocer Best supplier own-label development chef award 2019. Andrew doesn’t have an easy job. Each day is a tightrope when you’re juggling the expectations and demands of several high-profile retailers, but Andrew Brondon does it with style. Andrew has over 20 years of culinary experiences and uses a collaborative approach to bring over 100 new concepts to customers each year.
Judges praised Andrew’s ability to “bring something new to the table each time” as well as his record of careful relationship management: it takes “immense skill” to regularly pitch new products to retailers.
Andrew Brondon commenting on his achievement: -“This award has provided an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our NPD team, which I am proud to share this award with. Development Chefs are the industry innovators, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to develop exciting on trend applications using an extensive breadth of technologies, whilst maximising the value for retailers.
