Proud Sponsors of the Royal Welsh 30th Winter Fair

We are proud sponsors of the 30th Winter Fair. As one of the finest prime stock shows in Europe, the Royal Welsh Winter Fair draws crowds from far and wide to enjoy two-days packed full of competitions, festivities, prize-winning livestock and Christmas shopping. This year the fair is celebrating its 30th anniversary and will be held on 25 & 26 November at the showground in Llanelwedd.

We will be sponsoring the “Prime Lamb YFC Producer Competition” in association with Sainsbury’s Lamb Initiative. Our highly experienced team within the sheep farming industry will be judging the boards, presenting in the live judging competition and judging the carcass element. Following on from last year’s success, we are offering an exclusive opportunity for members of the Wales YFC, Dunbia and Sainsbury’s Lamb Initiative to enter the Lamb Carcass competition. Winners from the competition will take part in a Cook Off, held on the 25th November. Competition winners alongside representatives from Sainsbury’s Agriculture and Buying team, will be cooking YFC Welsh Lamb “ready steady cook style”.

Antoni Norejko YFC Supplier of the Year Award winner, commenting on last year’s 2018 Winter Fair: – “At last year’s fair I was fortunate enough to win the YFC supplier of the year award. During the day I took part in the Cook Off with Sainsbury’s Matt Penfold. Showcasing the versatility of Welsh Lamb, we created a Lamb stir fry, which if I do say so myself was delicious! The day was finished off nicely, with being awarded a video drone courtesy of Dunbia. I am not technologically minded however with a little help from my YFC friends, back at my farm I was able to master how to use it and put the drone to good use. As well as being good fun, I was able to capture some great footage of my pup working my early lambing flock of Suffolk ewes. Thank you to Dunbia for a great prize, which I will continue to use and benefit from in the future”.

The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Wales for over a century. We are looking forwarding to once again being part of this special two-day event and welcoming visitors to our stand. Please drop by and visit us for a warm drink and some festive mince pies at stand 1EX266 in the Livestock Complex Hall 1.
