On Friday 21st November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, the meat industry came together to celebrate excellence, innovation, and leadership at the Women in Meat Industry Awards. Among the many inspiring stories, Michelle White, Head of Marketing at Dunbia and Dawn Meats, was named Meat Businesswoman of the Year 2025.
Michelle first triumphed in the Manufacturing category award, before going on to secure the overall title, a recognition of her outstanding leadership and dedication to the sector and her role as a trailblazer for women in the meat industry.
Michelle’s journey with Dawn Meats Group began in 1998, when she joined as a sales graduate. Over the years, she steadily climbed the ranks, demonstrating not only her expertise but also her unwavering commitment to the industry. In 2017, she was appointed Group Head of Marketing, a role in which she has continued to drive innovation and growth.
Michelle’s passion for the meat industry is clear through her involvement in advisory groups for AHDB, QMS and the Global Meat Alliance, helping to shape the future of the industry. She has also become a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Butchers.
Michelle is widely regarded as a fantastic role model for aspiring women leaders in the sector. Her career path demonstrates what can be achieved through determination, expertise, and a genuine passion for the industry.
Reflecting on her award win, Michelle commented:
“I am honoured to receive this important accolade and offer my congratulations to all the category winners and finalists. We at Dawn Meats and Dunbia have supported the Women in Meat Industry Awards from the outset and to win this award is outstanding. Thank you to the judges and to everyone who voted.”
We would also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our four other shortlisted nominees; Sarah Wilman, Rebecca Archer, Elle Quinn and Dominika Kunysz. Their dedication and talent continue to inspire us, and we are proud to see their contributions recognised on such a prestigious stage.
