Great Taste Awards 2021

Great Taste, the world’s most trusted food and drink awards, has announced its stars of 2021. We are proud to announce our Rose County 35 Day Dry Aged Native Breed Cote de Boeuf has been awarded the highest accolade of 3-stars at this year’s Great Taste Awards 2021. Only a small percentage of products achieved a 3-star award, so this achievement puts our product amongst the elite.

Judged by some of the most discerning palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, buyers, retailers and producers, as well as food writers and journalists, Great Taste is the most coveted of all food and drink awards. As well as a badge of honour, the unmistakeable black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to an outstanding product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind tasting.

Judges Comments:

  • An absolutely stunning presentation with perfect marbling! Cooked to perfection and cuts like butter. Wonderful, savoury beefy aromas. Packed full of flavour, softly textured, melt in the mouth, revealing its juicy, succulent character.
  • Clean and buttery fat adds further layers of deeply satisfying flavour. Intense, grassy notes, bold roast beefiness that is so fresh and lingers, delivering a deep level of flavour. Clearly carefully and thoughtfully raised, produced and hung. A complete treat to taste beef at this level.
  • A very handsome looking cut. A deep rich umami flavour to the beef is satisfying. Good fat, soft and with flavour. A satisfying level of chew.
  • This is a fine-looking steak that has a good proportion of lean meat and fat. It has a great colour when cooked. The flesh and fat both have an amazingly deep and complex flavour and are incredibly succulent and juicy. A wonderfully rich beef flavour with beautifully caramelised edges. Absolutely delicious.
  • Plenty of marbling leaves a beautifully open textured steak. So very tender and delicious with lovely grassy notes, highlights of creaminess and plenty of deep beef flavour. Well butchered, well-aged and well looked after. You can tell the quality of care that has gone into producing this amazing steak.
