Repeat wins showcase the emphasis placed on training and career development across the whole Group
Dunbia has been awarded the “Young Manager of the Year” award at the Meat Management Awards in Birmingham. This is the third consecutive year that the company has claimed this award.
George Williamson, Dunbia’s Head of Agricultural Operations was presented with his award before an audience of over 400 people, including meat manufacturers, supermarkets, industry suppliers, trade organisations, trainers, catering butchers and independent retailers.
The Meat Management Industry Awards are a celebration of the creativity, innovation and excellence of the UK’s meat industry. A total of 20 awards were handed out to companies, associations and products that struck a chord with both readers and judges.
Commenting on the win, Jim Dobson, Chairman of Dunbia commented;
“George joined us as a graduate and has progressed through the company from lairage to procurement, production and project management. As Head of Agricultural Operations, he is a prime example of how a focused and enthusiastic individual can not only continually develop themselves, but also have a positive impact on their team and the wider objectives of the company.
Dunbia also took home the “Young Manager of the Year” award in 2018 and 2017, the first company to achieve such a distinction. This is evidence of the company’s commitment to ongoing live and online learning from the moment employees join, right through to retirement. During 2018 Dunbia implemented an intuitive software application that is used to administer, track, report and deliver IT business systems training. To date 98% of eligible users have signed up to 16,792 courses with over 2,882 training hours.
