The sun has set on another Balmoral Show which has proven to be very successful for Dunbia who welcomed farmers, customers and stakeholders onto their stand over the four days. For Dunbia, the highlight of the Show was a Farm Safety reception which was held on the stand on Wednesday afternoon.
Dunbia Brand Ambassador and Ireland Captain, Rory Best was joined by William Sayers who lost his arm in a farm accident when he was just twelve years old. While William’s story was both horrific and thought-provoking, it encompassed one simple message “THINK FARM SAFE!”
“What happened to me, happened in a split second,” explained William, “If, by telling my story I can prevent one farm accident, my presence at Balmoral Show will have been worth it. Any my message to farmers is very simple – before you undertake any farm activity, take one extra minute to think farm safety!”
Dunbia Chief Executive, Jim Dobson welcomed William and Rory onto the stand: “Tragically, we lose too many good farmers to farm accidents through death or serious injury which is so sad. We fully endorse William’s message and support the farm safe message.”
Ireland Captain Rory Best who is also a patron of the Farm Safety Partnership added his support to Farm Safe message and added some thoughts and advice on the staying safe on the Rugby pitch to the many interested fans in the audience.
