Congratulations to our team at Highland Meats who have won ‘Training Partner of the Year’ at this year’s Craft Skills Scotland Awards held in Dundee, Scotland on the 24th of November.
We would also like to congratulate our Butchery Academy Manager, Martin Neely, and our Butchery Trainer, Chris Brawls, who also received finalist trophies for the ‘Mentor of the Year’ category.
Both Martin and Chris are a fantastic asset to our Butchery Academy which develops and nurtures young talent like Sean Cassidy, our Apprentice Butcher (featured in the video below), in the age-old craft of butchery and de-boning.
The academy is run across a number of our Dunbia sites throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, with the aim of creating a continuous pool of talented and enthusiastic butchers committed to delivering excellence for our customers.
The ethos and approach of the Butchery Academy is centred around teamwork; working together and efficiently whilst achieving results and motivating each other. It is a great opportunity for young people to learn while they earn and pick up skills which will lead to countless opportunities.
