Dunbia is celebrating after lifting three product awards in partnership with leading retailers at a recent awards ceremony in London.
The Supermeat & Fish Awards, held annually, are described as an independent ‘affirmation of quality in everything customers value and look for.’
Amidst strong competition Dunbia was awarded ‘Best Lamb Product’ for their Butcher’s Selection Lamb Shoulder Joint with Garlic & Herb produced for Asda, ‘Best Pork Product’ for their Churrasco Salt & Chilli Pork Shoulder produced for Iceland Ltd, and ‘Best New Product to Market’ for their Quick Cook Beef Roasting Joint produced for Coop.
All three products deliver exceptional flavour and eating quality and speaking after the event Michael Doran, Group Sales & Marketing Director for Dunbia said: “we are thrilled to have collected three awards in partnership with our retail customers. There is a lot of hard work in terms of research, product development, flavour profiling and product testing that happens before a product goes to market so it is very satisfying for the Dunbia Innovation Team and our retail counterparts to see the benefits of all this work. The teams involved deserve such recognition for continuing to develop innovative products to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s customers.”
Dunbia’s Head of New Product Development Michael McWhinney commented: “It was fantastic to lift the highly sought after ‘Best New Product to Market’ for the Quick Cook Beef Roasting Joint we produce for long standing retail partner Coop. Using sous vide techniques, the three-way partnership between Dunbia, Coop and Linpac saw us develop a beef [and a lamb] roasting joint which can be cooked in the home in just 30 or 45 minutes respectively while retaining the juicy succulence and tenderness of a more traditional, longer cooked joint. The development of this ‘first to market’ product has allowed Coop to introduce an innovative cooking concept which is putting the traditional British Sunday roast back on dinner tables across the UK, not just at the weekend but as a mid-week option as well, and is proving popular with customers.”
