Job Role
  • To cascade and deliver the key business objectives and performance targets for hygiene standards determined by the FSQ Department.
  • Manage and control the chemicals to prevent unnecessary usage and an increase in chemical cost.
  • To keep up to date with all relevant hygiene requirements determined by site FSQ and customer requirements and cascade this knowledge to the Team.
  • Build and develop interdepartmental relationships between day shift and night shift.
  • To ensure that the departmental KPIs for hygiene agreed with site FSQ are conducted; maintain micro environmental targets.
  • Ensure the hygiene team are adequately prepared for customer visits and audits.
  • To actively promote best practice and strive for Hygiene standards of excellence by identifying and implementing corrective actions for non-conformances raised by daily pre-operational hygiene audits and microbiological failures.
  • Liaise with the FSQ Manager to formulate cleaning instruction cards for the plant and all equipment. Ensure all CICs are adhered to and the teamwork in a fashion to prevent damage, breakage and operational down time caused by poor cleaning practises.
  • Supervise the team including working time and ensuring adequate cover during annual leave or shortages within the team.
  • Responsible for signing off cleaning being conducted to the required standard and delegating when not on site.
  • Responsible for ensuring training is conducted and regular assessments are completed on staff performance and escalating concerns within the team to HR and the FSQ Manager.
  • To complete regular test on chemicals to ensure correct strengths are used to prevent wastage of chemical and ensure costs are controlled and cleaning is effective.
  • Enforce the correct usage of PPE and conduct regular risk assessments and maintain health and safety standards.
  • To promote and encourage initiatives that support the overall motivation, training, development and deployment of employee resources within Night Hygiene.
  • To complete regular test on chemicals to ensure correct strengths are used to prevent wastage of chemical and ensure costs are controlled and cleaning is effective.
  • To take responsibility for the performance and development of those individuals reporting directly to the role holder, ensure performance related feedback and actions.
  • Ensure all team members adherence to company policies, legislative requirements, and customer standards. All paperwork is completed for individuals within the team, for example, return to work paperwork
  • To ensure PPE is worn at all times and and is cleaned daily in preparation for following day production.
  • This is a broad definition of the responsibilities and objectives of this role. It is not an exhaustive list, and the job holder will thus be required to undertake any other work that is deemed relevant and within his/her capability.
The person

The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning within a factory environment. Training will include handling and the use of chemicals as part of the cleaning process. The job holder will be directly accountable to the Site Operations Manager and site FSQ for the efficient management of these activities according to the standards agreed by the business, whilst developing the team and quality culture within the department. Immediate start available following successful interview. As part of the recruitment process you will be expected to provide Right to Work in the UK.
